Wooo Hooo!!!!! It's official -

What?   West Coast Vintage Surf Swap Meet

When?    Saturday 17th @ 7pm for film & drinks night
               Sunday 18th March @ 9am > 4pm for swap meet - stall holders 7am

Where?   Camelot Memorial Hall - 16 Lochee St - Mosman Park

The venue is a classic art deco hall replete with surrounding gardens, lawn areas, truck loads of parking, plenty of space inside where we can all set up location and is attached to a huge oval for everyone to run free!

It's also very easy to find as very close to Cottesloe Beach and I will post a map soon for extra ease.

I will very shortly be emailing out to all that attended last year and those who have registered their interest to give you guys plenty of notice to start working on those extensive collections you have stashed away, hiding from the harsh public eye...

So if of interest please shoot me an email to chris@cartercollective.com so I can lock you into a space. We will be asking for donations of $10 per stall holder to go towards Princess Margaret Hospital of which will really help boost the gold coin entrance donations.

September 2011

Another big gap between updates, sorry guys as still trying to lock down a venue & date for the 2nd Carter Vintage Surf Swap Meet.

As this year is fast running out of time I have decided to run the 2nd edition early 2012 to allow plenty of time for collectors & enthusiasts to gather up their quivers, memorablia etc... for the big event.

Will update as soon as both date & venue confirmed, hopefully very soon...

July 2011

Howdy all, a quick update as due to increased interest and time required for the upcoming 2011 event we have recently changed the name of the event to the Carter Vintage Surf Swap Meet in order to give it it's own identity.

Nothing else changes as the event is full steam ahead with a venue almost locked in, news soon of the late October event...

March 2011

For all the West Coast Vintage Surf Swap Meet crew who have been waiting for updates, wait no longer as I am happy to announce we are running this years event in October 2011 at a bigger, more improved venue with all the usual suspects plus more! As mentioned in previous updates we will have a band, food, entertainment, guest speakers, premiere film night etc... so please keep checking back in for confirmed dates & venue soon, real soon....

Now, for those who want to be involved at either events make sure to register your interest  asap so we can allocate space for you. You can register via the contacts page or email me @ info@cartercollective.com

February 2011

Okay, can somebody tell me where last year went? I seem to have misplaced it somewhere along with Jan 2011. Gee it shot by like a flash, as if it were guilty of something and quickly darted off before anyone busted it...

Anyway, 2011 is shaping up to be a big year here @ carter collective with the upcoming Carter Vintage Surf Swap Meet on schedule for a little later this year which will be in a much bigger coastal based venue & will include a live band and premiere surf movie screening night, super fun to be had!
Well, I'll keep you guys posted as to the above event & other 2011 projects, in the interim let me know if you have any ideas, feedback etc... always keen to have a chat.

Well, I know it's been a couple of weeks now since the innaugural Deus Swap Meet took place so this update is a little late! Now I have excuses as I have been away & patiently
awaiting images of the day to pass on to you all.

Now, check out the following links for great images (a big thanks to photog's Bel from Deus, Erick from tungsten.net.au & Coops from loadedbarrel.com.au) -

A huge thanks to all of you for coming along on the day with your quivers, loose change & positive attitudes as the day rocked and all involved are really keen & looking forward to next years event.

Now next years Carter Swap Meet is looking to be earlier in the year with a great contingent of crew already commited to bringing along memorabilia, quivers, vintage clothing, furniture, vintage skate etc... It's shaping up to be a big day & I will keep you all posted through both this site & www.cartercollective.com

Before I sign off, a big thanks to Adam (?) who arrived really early on the day in his old Holden wagon, went back home & returned with his quiver of cruisin' bikes one of which he donated all proceeds to the PMH Foundation. Cheers Adam, look forward to catching up at the 2011 swap meet!

The article to the right featured in the surfing section of the 24/10th edition of the Sunday Times. As you will see it included a brief spiel on the upcoming swap meet, it's going to be a great day!

25/10/10
Well, the guys @ Deus in Sydney held another great Surf Swap Meet over the 2nd weekend of October, check out the images -

Gee there were an interesting crew there with all sorts of boards, bikes, fixies & cruisers on display, a whole lot of fun!

Now the good news is we are holding one in Perth November 21st 2010 @ rear of 1000 Hay St Perth, west end CBD (opposite the QV1 & up the road a little behind the very cool designFARM showroom)

The surf swap meet is an opportunity for vintage surfboard & surf memorabilia collectors (preferably 70's single & twin fins) to get together for a day to show & shine, pass on a few treasured collectables & talk the talk all day.

There will be fresh food & coffee available on the day along with the very cool Day of the Dead guys providing the rhythm section.

If you are interested in becoming involved by bringing along your vintage quiver or retro memorabilia please email me @ info@cartercollective.com & I will fill you in on the details.

If you simply want to come along to check it all out please bring some loose change in your pocket for the $2 charity donation entry fee and an open mind. If you have a set of crazy wheels (car, bike, fixie, skatey, roadster etc.. ) even better to rock up on!

All proceeds from the day will be donated to the very worthy cause of helping the many children in need through the PMH Foundation.

Keep checking in here as it promises to bring out a bunch of interesting collectors and crazy crew on the day & I will keep you posted via this page. Also check out www.cartercollective.com for updated Deus & Surf Swap Meet news.

For all & anything Deus related visit deus.com.au (.) There you will find a whole lot of cool things to get you to the beach, keep you covered on the way there, ride in the water and keep you looking cool, most important...!
